I am Rishika Jeyaprakash, an 18-year-old from Mason, Ohio. When I was younger, about 7 or 8, I started to really notice the world around me. I learned how gruesome some people’s lives can actually be and how blessed I am. Something inside me kept nagging and telling me to push away this darkness and share my blessings with others. Thus, in 2015, Little Helpers was born with the motto of helping others and inspiring others to help. As a third-grader, I wanted to make a difference not just by myself, but as a group. Our lives are not just about satisfying ourselves and getting what we want, they are about changing others on our journey.

The impact that Little Helpers has made on many lives has encouraged me to keep going and grow it bigger. Watching my little sister and other kids learn from these kind acts assures me that, “kids can change the world too”!

Kindness knows no bounds! Little Helpers has motivated me to also serve as the

–          Founder and Host of the Little Helpers Big Inspirations Podcast (2020 – Present)

–          National Honor Society VP of Communications, Mason High School (2023-2024)

–          Inclusive Excellence Administrative Team Training Leader, Mason High School (2022-2024)

The Mason High School Student Inclusive Excellence Leadership Team serves to combat hate and ignorance, intending to make MHS (the largest high school in Ohio) a secure, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students. Every month, our team brainstorms ideas for various educational materials, training resources, and conferences. We also observe parts of the hiring process to provide input on how well we believe the candidate would fit our values. I am one of the Training team leaders this year. In training, we plan projects to teach students and staff in our district methods to actively step up to bias and proactively prepare and eliminate prejudice. We are currently working on department-specific bias training.

–          Ambassador & Nonprofit Partner of Magnified Giving

Magnified Giving educates and engages teens in philanthropy and magnifies the gift of time, talent, and treasure to communities. After being inspired by Mr.Roger Grein, the founder of Magnified Giving, I knew I had to get involved! I have had several different experiences through Magnified Giving.

  1. Nonprofit Partner and Ambassador

Here, Little Helpers joins hands with Magnified Giving to interact with youth to promote an understanding of their mission and societal impact, forming a unique learning experience for young philanthropists.

2. Founder of Kind Krew

I founded Kind Krew as a freshman in high school. A Youth Philanthropy Program based out of Magnified Giving, Kind Krew allowed me to lead ten students through a year-long education, research, public speaking, and donation process. Members chose a social cause they were passionate about and researched local nonprofits that could benefit from a monetary donation. After completing this base work, each member developed and presented a pitch on why their nonprofit most deserved the monetary donation of $1000 (generously donated by Magnified Giving). The nonprofit was voted on and awarded the money through a Giving Ceremony.

3. Camp Give

To grow awareness and love for philanthropy at a young age, Magnified Giving hosts several week-long camps called Camp Give. Camp Give was my first exposure to Magnified Giving and allowed me to dwell deep into a realm of Youth philanthropy. I was a guest speaker for the camp and educated several youths on Little Helpers and the value of service and kindness.

4. Youth Philanthropist Emcee

Hand-selected through several young Philanthropists, I was chosen as an emcee for the Magnified Givings Future of Philanthropy Dinner 2022. As an avid public speaker, I enjoyed sharing my experiences about an organization I align with and meeting many new people!
